After helping launch other successful food & drink networks across Ireland, including the highly successful Wicklow Naturally, Birnie Consultancy has been asked by Mid and East Antrim Borough Council to facilitate the re-establishment of their Food & Drink Network.

Identified as part of the Council’s 2019 Agri-Food study, the Birnie team will be working closely with both Council Staff and local businesses to collectively create a voice, capture challenges and identify opportunities to strengthen business and the sector within the Borough.

Mayor of Mid and East Antrim, Cllr William McCaughey, said: “The re-establishment of a Food and Drink network in the Borough provides a great platform for local businesses to engage with each other, collaborate to face challenges or identify new opportunities to strengthen their businesses and indeed the sector as a whole within the Borough. I would urge food and drink producers throughout the Borough to get involved by attending the network launch event and to play your part in shaping the future direction of the network.”

Birnie Consultancy Managing Director Dr Jonathan Birnie concluded “After helping get other food networks off the ground, My team and I are looking forward to working towards doing the same in Mid and East Antrim. With an excellent range of food & drinks businesses in the Borough, I’ve no doubts that this will be a success.”
